Rugrats

Rugrats is a young parent’s support service aimed at young mums and dads as well as young mums with bumps and dads to be aged 16-25. We run group sessions every Wednesday from 11.30am-3pm for young parents and their children, providing a playgroup style environment a range of fun activities for parents and children to get involved in. We offer appointments and home visits outside of these times, throughout the week for those parents who are unable to join the group or feel they need support at home.  Please contact us for details or to arrange an appointment.  A health visitor attends the group sessions every month to weigh babies and children and offer advice around all areas in children’s health including sleeping patterns, weaning, breastfeeding and behaviour. Rugrats provides young parents with the opportunity to meet other young parents and access support from staff on issues which may include: support with housing support with emotional wellbeing, baby blues and post-natal depression support with benefits support with claiming Sure Start Maternity Grants, Healthy Start Vouchers and Tax Credits support with accessing funding for nursery places and childcare information on local Health Services information on local Child Care Services and Schools support getting into education, training or employment support with filling out application forms and CV's
